Can I Freeze Cookies?
Decorated cookies can frozen for a few months to be enjoyed later! There are a few steps to take to ensure the best outcome for taste and decoration.
1. Place wrapped cookies inside of an airtight container (like a rubbermaid container).
2. Pop the cookies into your freezer.
3. When it's time to thaw, bring the cookies out of the freezer and place on the counter. DO NOT open the outer container for 4-5 hours (or even overnight). You want the cookies to come to room temperature slowly.
4. Once thawed, remove the cookies from the outer container. They are ready to enjoy!
**If the cookies thaw too quickly, condensation can form inside of the individual bags. This condensation can cause the icing to become discolored, smear, or pit. Cookies with this kind of condensation damage are completely edible- they're just not as pretty as before!
